Is Stuyvesant Guitars gone? I believe that this is where the Edge bought his famous Gibson Explorer and it was also featured in a Les Paul Documentary that was made in 1980.

I'm planning to visit New York next year and I was planning to make this one of my stops.

It's a pity that Manny's has closed, with all the giants of music past and present that have sat there and jammed or just dropped by to shoot the breeze, they should turn the building to a musican's shrine.

I remember being in Manny's before it closed and seeing an original receipt of a purchase Hendrix made, it was a HUGE bill, especially for those days hahaha.... I mean you KNOW hendrix just walked in there and bought whatever the hell he wanted. Anyway hendrix's signature was RIGHT THERE.

I think this was it:

I wonder who has that piece of rock memoralbilia in their possession,I imagine it would fetch quite a bit of money if it ever came up for auction.

I'm origenally from the NJ/NY area. If you don't have any luck in NY stop over into NJ and check out Monmouth Music, in Redbank. Ask for John Sheridan. He's a fair guy and will always do right by you. It doesn't hurt that he is my uncle.

Thanks! I'll do that if I don't find what I'm looking for in NY :D
