Kind of baffled me as well. I have rarely seen an acoustic with anything lighter than custom lights (.011-.052). Most that I have seen have lights (.012-.053).

Another thing to keep in mind that I rarely see anyone pay attention to is the nut when you change string gauges. The nut on any guitar is cut for a certain gauge string and going bigger or smaller without adjusting the slots in the nut is going to have undesirable effects.

I spent some time searching and the best I could find is a couple of online stores that carried the AE300 that listed the strings as Lights (.012-.053).

All of these responses saying 10's and 11's are both Medium and stock OEM issue are baffling to me. I have never run into any acoustic guitar in any store that was not strung with 12's. 12's are standard equipment on new guitars. 12's are also "Light' guage. Every brand of strings I've ever seen lists 12's as Light and 10's as Extra-Light.

I use 11's on my acoustics which is considered "Custom-Light".

Baffling to me as well! 12's to 13's are the most common from my experience, with the preference going to 12's for we "sissys" who have gotten soft fingers and unaccustomed to the additional necessary grip versus electrics.
