Do you all remember "Guitar Shop" magazine? It was magazine for people who love gutiars.

I loved it and I miss it.

I used to subscribe to a British publication called International Musician and Recording World back in the 70s and 80s and it was filled with great articles covering every aspect of the music business, but I believe that it must have went under because my magazines stopped coming with no notice.

Does anyone remember disco? The middle to late 70s would have been the 1st time people were saying rock music is dead. The 80s thru the 90s saw the re-emergence of rock and roll music's popularity. The rap hip-hop genre needed a boost so radio and MTV and the people involved apparently decided to kill rock music and pushed the rap hip-hop genre to the forfront even though that is the worst thing to happen to the music business since it's beginning. Rock and Roll music isn't dead, it's just being pushed underground again like in the beginning. Which, hopefully will be the best thing that could happen taking attention off of the rock and roll music genre and blues music as well. Just go along, when someone asks if you like today's rap hip hop and pop music say "it is OK" then change the subject, it is better not to argue with those who have been brainwashed into thinking that the new world order version of mind control thru rap hip hop pop, you know, sub-standard musical entertainment is harmless which couldn't be less true, but, you have to not be under their scrutiny because at some point in the future the powers that be may try to jail us for not listening to that garbage

I think that the longer that time goes on with out bands like Led Zep, and people like SRV, the harder it will be for new bands to achieve that status for the reason that Led Zep and SRV will just be put on higher and higher pedestals as time goes on with their absence.

i totally disagree with this. as time goes on less and less will know or even care about zep and SRV. soon there will be a new zep and a new SRV of these times and thats who folks will remember.
(zep being the most OVERATED band in history)

Couldn't have said it better. Rock just isn't being pushed and if they did, this thread wouldn't went this route or even existed.

the thing is, you see all these parents letting their kids listen to that garbage (and singing along themselves) thats about sex, booze, drugs and money, but if the kid even hears rock its a huge no no because rock is nothin but sex and swears.... ive asked some parents about this.... they REALLY have things backwards there :?
