I ended up selling back the 60th Anniversary Strat back to my friend that I bought it from. He came over the other day and finally had the chance to play it and fell in love with it. Next thing you know, he wanted to know if I would sell it back to him. He had originally bought it in 2006 and had never used it. He's a huge Hendrix fan and when he started playing Little Wing on it, that was all she wrote. I was hesitant at first, but he is my best friend and he has been through a lot lately especially with losing a leg to diabetes, so I gave in and let him have it back for $800.00 which is what I paid him for it. As far another guitar for myself, I think I'm going to keep my options open for a while. I'm not going to jump into anything right now.

Ohhh geeze, your friend lost his leg? :shock:
Im sorry to hear that.
I too have diabetes. I don't like it. :cry:

i watched a guy at work get diagnosed. his life went through some serious changes man. dude couldnt cope with it. he turned to a diet of
cokes and candy bars and such. we all thought he was gonna
fall out. just refused to do anything the doc's said.
he was a walking zombie for months.
it can be bad stuff if not managed properly.

I've been looking at several guitars and I got my eyes on a few. Here's a list of choices;

Highway One Strat ( I tried the American Special but didn't like it),
Epiphone 1956 Gold Top Les Paul,
Epiphone Plain Top ( Honeyburst) Les Paul,
Gibson Melody Maker (Sunburst Finish), I actually tried one of these a week ago and for a Gibson, they're very underrated guitars that have a Tele like twang to them.

Those are what I'm deciding to choose from, so if any of you have experience with any of these guitars, let me know what you think, okay?

Highway 1. I ended up getting rid of my Highway 1 Strat to fund my Guild Starfire II but it was a super killer Strat in my opinion. THe features were all perfect for me: jumbo frets, 22 frets, nice neck shape, the pups sound good, like the look of the nitro and the larger headstock. I have played the AM Special and didn't really care for it either.

second on the list of guitars you listed I would say the 1956 gold top.

Thanks Black Cat Bone. I also forgot to put down the Epiphone Les Paul Studio deluxe model. I tried one of those out a few weeks ago at Guitar Center when my friend and I were trying out Gibson LP Studios and Standards and IMO, this guitar was just as good as Gibson's version if not better. It has Block Inlays and Vintage style tuners which are much better than the so called "Grovers" that Epiphone uses on most of their guitars.

I really liked the Slash Epiphone Gold Top...I know it was Limited, but there might still be some out there. The Duncan Alnico II's sounded great, fast action on the neck...
