Hey just wanted to say I give 5 stars to tom petty and the heartbreakers new album mojo! I remember watching Tom an the guys on SNL a few months ago and wanted the cd. Then I forgot about it, but saw in wal mart and coulden't resist.

Any way it has a way bluesier sound than the previous albums and has some excellent lead work. I'm really enjoying it and enjoying the pics of Tom pettys huge collection of gear! A really cool thing they did was put what instruments each of the heartbreakers played on each song and there's lots a vintage guitars and basses.

So totally recommend it!

Will p

Every album that Tom Petty has released yet is a gem,he turns out consistantly excellent recordings. Both his music and lyrics are brilliant and always have been. The gear that they take on the road is a vintage collector's dream.BTW this isn't related but Rick Neilson of Cheap Trick takes his original 58 Les Paul burst- that he has used on every one of their albums-on every tour and insuring that single guitar takes up 53% of their tour insurance premium.

They also just released the Mojo album as an audio Blu-Ray disk. The sound should be pretty incredible in that format.

They're touring right now but Mike Campbell is using a copy (made special for him by Gibson) of the vintage Les Paul he used when recording the album...
