I just saw the new Gary Moore aged '59 Les Paul Gibson is putting out. $12,459.00 MSRP. I mean I like Gary Moore, But who is buying these guitars, That is a LOT of bread for a replica. I think that Gary Moore might sell his own Les Paul for that much cash these days, seeing as he hasn't put out an album lately. I guess theres a lot more guitarist pulling in a lot of dough these days to warrant Gibson to keep putting out High Priced Artist edition models. Do they sell more than three of them total??? I can spend 13 grand a lot wiser than that, unless I just won powerball lottery. Why doesn't Gibson put out a quality affordable Les Paul anymore? 8)

Will any hard working full-time musician and Gary Moore fan really play a gig with a $12,459 guitar?

Yes I also wish Gibson concentrate on more affordable good quality guitars instead of these crazy priced ones. But they will keep doing it as long as doctors, lawyers, and the obscenely wealthy cork sniffers keep buying them just to polish and keep in a glass case to show off to their chums. This Gary Moore Gibson will add to their collection of Bentleys, Rolex's, and trophy wife. :o

I'm pretty sure Gary Moore isn't hurtin' for cash and never will be.
A lot of the buyers of these guitars are collectors for future profit, I bet 75% can't even tune a guitar.

Who at Gibson, decides what artist gets a sig guitar made for them?
Like metropolis says, who's gonna gig with a guitar that expensive?

It's like the old joke of a guy selling a gizmo for $1,000,000. He only has to sell one.

People buy them or they would not be making them. Not everyone lives in a 280,000 dollar row house like me, I have lots of homes around me that are 1,000,000 up. To some of them 12G's is a vacation cost.

when they do finally listen to their customers, they produce a model that is backordered about 3 months :?

insane. i don't make a lot of money but i work my rear end off to earn it and i'm thankful. if i had that cash right now i'd put it in upkeep on my casa, not one guitar. for you guys that can afford this stuff, i'm happy for you. i really am. i bought a harley 4 years ago that i love but i feel guilty sometimes for buying something so expensive. the differnce' is that it gets me back and forth to my job.

Any company that produces a Keifer Sutherland model guitar is more than a little out of touch as to what guitar players want anyway.I can't see paying that kind of money for any new Les Paul no matter whose name is on it.If I were to buy a Les Paul these days I'd buy an older one or a MIJ Orville by Gibson. From the experiences some people I know have had with new Les Pauls an older one seems like a safer bet.Epiphone is making superb '59&'60 Les Paul reissues,I played one and was amazed by everything about it.

I think it is a shame that the cheapest you can get a new Gibson LP for is $799 and that is a basic model. For that kind of cash I can buy a quality Fender with loads of upgrades.

With that being said, I would love a nice Gibson to add to my collection.
