Reading this proves the guy is WACKED OUT!!!!

Some of these look like Hitler's Nazi Germany. We want to know who you are and what you own. Your not allowed to use them either. ( Criminals will really abide by this) And what does DWI arrest have to do with gun ownership, do drunks shoot more people then non drunks? Get two DWI arrest you can't own a gun but you can have a car? OK that sounds real wacked! People would be required to have 4 hour course and one hour training at range to own one but yet they are not allowed to practice at city ranges. So you have to learn but your not allowed to practice. Wacked!!!! Heres part of the article.


The measure, which draws from ordinances around the country, would ban gun shops in Chicago and prohibit gun owners from stepping outside their homes, even onto their porches or garages, with a handgun.
Daley announced his ordinance at a park on the city's South Side three days after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Americans have a right to own a gun for self-defense anywhere they live. The City Council is expected to vote on it Friday.
"As long as I'm mayor, we will never give up or give in to gun violence that continues to threaten every part of our nation, including Chicago," said Daley, who was flanked by activists, city officials and the parents of a teenager whose son was shot and killed on a city bus while shielding a friend.
The ordinance, which Daley urged the City Council to pass, also would :
• Limit the number of handguns residents can register to one per month and prohibit residents from having more than one handgun in operating order at any given time.
• Require residents in homes with children to keep them in lock boxes or equipped with trigger locks.
• Require prospective gun owners to take a four-hour class and one-hour training at a gun range. They would have to leave the city for training because Chicago prohibits new gun ranges and limits the use of existing ranges to police officers. Those restrictions were similar to those in an ordinance passed in Washington, D.C., after the high court struck down its ban two years ago.
• Prohibit people from owning a gun if they were convicted of a violent crime, domestic violence or two or more convictions for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Residents convicted of a gun offense would have to register with the police department.
• Calls for the police department to maintain a registry of every handgun owner in the city, with the names and addresses to be made available to police officers, firefighters and other emergency responders.
Those who already have handguns in the city — which has been illegal since the city's ban was approved 28 years ago — would have 90 days to register those weapons, according to the proposed ordinance.
Residents convicted of violating the city's ordinance can face a fine up to $5,000 and be locked up for as long as 90 days for a first offense and a fine of up to $10,000 and as long as six months behind bars for subsequent convictions.

Mayor Daley is not wacked out, not even close, while 1 of his own Police officers was being murdered 2 months ago the victims Father, a retired Police officer came outside of his home to engage the 4 attackers with his own handgun to try and protect his son and was able to kill 1 attacker wound another the other 2 got away. The city buried the slain Police officer with full honors but I was waiting for Daley to have the father arrested for stepping outside of his home with a handgun. Our Mayor is not wacked out, heartless greedy apathetic towards the people of the city yes, he knows exactly what he is doing, an opportunistic pathogen with feet he does his worst and the most damage to the city at the times when the city needs a Mayor who will do his best to help the city and its people.

For 28 years it has been illegal to own a handgun in Chicago, only the criminals had them. A lot of good that did.

A few weeks ago, there was a rash of shootings in Englewood (a neighborhood on Chicago's south side). Mayor Daley said, "We’ve seen far too many instances in the last few weeks...this proves we need to keep the handgun ban" or something to that effect.

Oh really? You mean the in the City where it is illegal to own a handgun, people are being murdered.

If you want to talk poltics go somewhere else. I've seen many forums go downhill because of this type of thing. These threads always lead to arguments and go no where. I've participated in them including a recent one on this forum.

So much for the safety of citizens not being allowed to have stuff.

Yes thats a good read Solid Body Love. We have to watch the new Supreme Court nominee she has shown her dislike of the second amendment. Many don't realize that when obama got elected gun sales doubled in fact there were shortages of handgun ammo so many were stocking up out of fear of his policies.
People like Bloomberg and Daley don't realy have a clue because of the life they live is so far different from middle class Americans. Bloomberg is worth 18.5 Billion and the Daley's have held the Mayors office in Chicago since for ever ( it seems) Dad and the Son and there Mob friends ( Truck drivers being paid for nothing on the books)

Sotomayor, like Kagan, also said the 2nd amendment was settled law then in her very first vote she dissented against the 2nd amendment...a total contradiction from what she said in her confirmation hearings.

Chicago is a fine town I can't wait to visit with my wife! Hopefully Solidbody will have a gig so I can finally link up with him, hear him jam and buy the drinks!
