hi, my pedal board is very nearly done.

the pedals are, in the order i would. pedal tuner, cry baby wah. keeley compressor, keeley bd-2, ts808, little big muff, hardwire delay/looper.

i heard muff before distortion/overdrives is better, i know its a case of try n find out but was wondering what you guys would do?

thanks
louis

While there are not really any rules on how to put them in order, this is a good place to start:

But also just experiment on your own, and go with what works and sounds best for you...

I have found through much trial and error that putting the Big Muff and other distortion or boost units before the wah gives you a more intense wah effect, placing the wah first weakens the wah effect when it goes through the fuzz and/or boost.Jimi Hendrix always put the Fuzz Face first to achieve his great wah sound -of course using a Clyde McCoy also helped immensely.

I'm the same way. I never liked a wah before any distortion.

Wah before distortion if you'll be doing a lot of clean funk type stuff.

If not, try both ways and use what sounds best to you.

You can also try putting the compressor after the distortion... as you can see there are no rules 8)
