Don't know how many of you saw this in the July 2010 issue of Guitar World, but here is Stevie Ray Vaughan at age 16 playing guitar (it's shortly before he dropped out of high school):

Pretty cool! :D

Yeah, I heard it when I read about it in the magazine. I didn't think to post it though.

Honestly if you didn't tell who it was and you just said, "Guess who this is at age 16. He's someone you listen to a lot.", then I would have guessed it was Eric Clapton at 16. It really doesn't sound all that much like Stevie. Which is in a way very encouraging, because if he didn't have his style fully developed at 16 than I, being 17, feel a whole lot better about myself.

Yeah, what I heard was a bunch of copped licks, not his style that he's known for.....I guess it just proves you gotta start somewhere!
I've listened to a good bit of early Duane Allman's playing before the ABB and he sounded very different also.
It's like those guys just explode all of a sudden and bam....they're amazing and you think "where did this guy come from?!"

That must've been on the Disc because I get my issue through subscription in the mail without it, and I never have seen that.

It was actually mentioned in the first article I believe (the one called "Lone Star Rising").

Yeah, it is really interesting how his playing changed! But I still have to say that he was pretty good for being 16!

No arguing with that! He just sort of blew himself away ten or fifteen years later.
