I have a Strat made in Korea. They are not bad instruments and pretty much stay in tune. I'm sure the Seymour is a Duncan Performer unless it was swapped out by the owner. In which case you have a very good quality pickup. See if you can get it for around $100.

I have a Squier Les Paul clone that is MIK, it's pretty good quality, nice bookmatch finish, binding, block inlays, sounds great, feels great.

Hi Hillbilly: black single ply pickguard, natural finish body, birdseye maple neck with abalone dot markers?

That's the Lite Ash Tele, discontinued about 18 months ago. I have exactly that one: very well made at the price point and those Duncan pickups are well above spec for that level in the catalog. At the right price, an excellent buy.

How much was the one you saw?

Cheers - C

A lot of fine guitars come out of Korea. The Cort factory is there and supplies a lot of guitars to a lot of different manufacturers. There are different levels of quality. It just depends on what's ordered and the materials spec'd out by the big boys. Same with China, there are different levels of quality, it just costs more to have the better built instruments.

Exactly, the craftsmanship is no better or worse. It's whats spec'd by the guys in the office on domestic soil. Same for all countries of manufacture. Instrument companies are owned and run by people of many nationalities. They decide the price and ultimately what passes for acceptable at that price.

If it's a genuine light ash then yes it's a fantastic deal.

Look for a special Fender logo on the headstock. I'm sure a nice light ash owner will post a pic' of their logo, so you can be sure your getting the real deal.

Cheapest I've seen em for used is £300/$448

make him a counter offer of $100.00 and hopefully you'll both meet in the middle at $125.00. He probably didn't pay more than $50.00 for it...if that.

Then yep, it's the Lite Ash Tele. That decal is very distinctive: little room for doubt.

$100 would be an amazing price - but $150 would still be very good indeed. Jump on it, 'less there's something badly wrong we don't know about...

Cheers - C
