Hey guys! My summer of rock debauchery continues. Saw Deep Purple at St George's market in Belfast tonight with support from the mighty Sweet Savage.

It was an awesome show, thought it might have been a downer after Download but god was it good!

Anyone else here caught them lately?

Hope all is well with you all, been busy! Got Slash again on Wed!!

Congrats, CC! Glad to hear they can still lay it down. I saw them in Berlin in 1987. The opening act was Bad Company. It was a good time. 8)

I did not know they were still performing, would love to see them. I will do some searching on the web to see if they are going to play here in Holland sometimes, I make sure to go to see them if they do.

Steve Morse is more than up to the task. He really is a guitar god

I concur wholeheartedly. It was an amazing show and this is from a man who has saw AC/DC, Aerosmith, RATM, Slash, Motorhead and Peter Green in the last month.

As for the main mans voice I thought he sounded brilliant. Of course he's not going to sound like when he was in his 20's......he's not! The only guy I can give the merit of keeping his voice til old(er) age is Steve Tyler who blew my mind the other week.

Anyway, going for a jam session wi Seany and then on to see Slash again tomorrow night.

Cheers guys,

CC

It's got to be somewhere around 10 years since I saw Purple but I do recall having my expectations MORE than met. Great shows, both times I saw them!

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
