Actually, I think I'm going to go for a hand held one, Tascam. They got a great sale on them and I can get a mic package and adapter for about 160 total.

Actually, I can get it for 117 without all the mics and stuff. That would be cool about discount for two. LOL

Yeah, I got the price.

I have an adapter so no prob with that. (I can always order that later with other stuff if the adapter I have doesn't work but it should) Also, I have rechargeable batteries.

It shipped last night. wow. LOL

That should be fine for the application that you want it for. One thing to keep an eye out for though is the 2GB SD cards.

Many recorders (especially BOSS) use 1GB SD cards and they are becoming very scarce and hard to find. I think that now with many devices accepting up to 32GB cards, that the smaller ones will be outdated soon.
If you can find 4 or 5, stock up!

Thanks for the tip. I'll keep an eye out for that.

I just got the recorder. I can always upgrade later on with mics and stuff.

I stopped by Best Buy earlier today to get something, they also sell musical equipment... so I asked about a digital recorder, they carry the Zoom line. So I picked up the H2 for $150, comes with AC adapter, 1 GB SD card (I tested 8 GB I have, no problem), headphones, mic adapter, a couple other things... but what's important is this thing works! I didn't even read the manual or make any changes, just put it close to the amp, push record and play it back, can't believe how clear it sounds!

I didn't have much time to mess with it I'm sure I will in a couple of days... I hope the DR-07 is as easy to use and does as good of a job recording your guitar. Good luck!

I'm just getting a real cheap mic for now, just to suit my needs. I'm not interested in playing for keeps, just progress and to sing along. But thanks for the link! If I ever get better, I would really like one of those old fashioned mics. I just think they're cool and love vintage looking items.

Recorder should come in tomorrow. yay.

I'm inclined to go along with the mini-studio recorder idea, you can get pretty decent sound reproduction from some of them and the price won't put you in the poorhouse.

Yeah, I wanted something inexpensive but not a crummy brand. Lot of people seemed to like this recorder so I figure I'd give it a shot.

When you get a song recorded that you'd like us to hear, just open a (free) account at Box.net and post the link.

Cool, thanks. Just got it today. Can't wait to play with it.

I think that you won't be hearing me for a bit. It'd be like America's Got Talent where they all hit the X button right away. LOL Gives me a reason to practice.

I don't watch the show that much, but saw that "Clownvis" and wanted to scream. Geez. Glad Sharon told him off.

EDIT: Note, this does not have a built in speaker. You have to put in your headphones or external ones to listen to your progress. Not a great feature, but liveable. So far, it looks okay. Was going to play but I threw out my back, again!!! This is the fourth time this week. I have no idea what's going on.
