My nephew-who I mentored as a beginner-and his band Kujo will be opening for Our Lady Peace at the largest outdoor concert in the province this summer.Earlier this year they beat out over 50 other bands to open for Puddle of Mudd at the provinces largest concert venue.They started off as largely a cover band but now they're playing his compositions exclusively and have a huge following and large C.D. sales.I'm tickled to death to see that some of my influence has paved the way for him to get to where he is today.

That's awesome! I doubt many of our American forumites know Our Lady Peace but they are huge in Canada. His band must be very good to have earned such an honor.

Fantastic Guitslinger,

I wish the band well, this is a great opportunity for them. I was talking to the kid a few doors down from my place, he's a great guitarist. He was telling me Manic Street Preachers came to see his band a few weeks ago, the band wanted to sign them up to their label. They were offered £50,000 to make an album, these kids declined! They all feel their education comes first, they all start Uni this year. Go figure huh I found myself agreeing with the boy, the music will always be there.

You can check out the band on MySpace,there are several bands called Kujo but Theirs is the only one from St.John's NL I believe they have their name listed as-Kujo the rock band.My nephew ,Victor Lewis,writes all the music and lyrics for the band plus he has released several solo indie CDs that he has played all the instruments on.Some day I hope that someone from a big label sees him as he's a monstrous talent and I'm not sayng that because he's my nephew,several local music publications and radio programs have reviewed his music and said the same.
