I don't have a separate setup for home jam use. I practice with full gear and at stage volumes. I try to practice in the same (or at least similar) environment I will perform in.

You may infer from that that I do NOT live in an apartment.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

At home i mainly use my laptop and podfarm, and play it through speakers. But I also have a fender hotrod deluxe (which I'm looking to sell).
With this if I use pedals then its just the same as what I would use live on my pedal board. Which is a boss dd3, tech21 killer wail, ibanez ts9 and a boss tu2.
While I am at home I use any of my guitars except my ibanezs (which I am also looking to sell!). My guitars if your interested are a J5 Tele, Jim Root Tele, Standard Strat, Les Paul Jnr, Ibanez RG and an Ibanez Talman.

Even though I have a couple of decent amps, at home, I play thru my Tascam trainers (CD-BT2 and GT2, for both bass and guitar). I can play and jam with any instructional or music CD, and with headphones, I don't feel self-concsious about disturbing my neighbors.
