I put some questions to ME on his Forum thread awhile back about that guitar BG's been playing....specifically the finish and the electronics. There wasn't much clarification in the reply. Hardly see the Lace powered Polka Dot anymore. Wonder if this is a Clapton in camouflage? If they put that one on the market I might consider it.

It does look Honey Blond, doesn't it. Honey Blond and the 2-burst were the MIA Artist Series finish options, both with the Clapton circuit and gold Laces. But what's he running now. They're conventional pole pieces, but Lace-Actodyne makes sensors which have that look.

You can get an MIM Polka Dot and upgrade the electronics aftermarket, but you may have time with the preamp placement because the body isn't routed in the lower bout for it.
(The routing for the Clapton is identical to that which was in the Elite, it's active electronics predecessor). I had one in which I installed DiMarizio Vintage Blues. I would have put EMG's in there if I could have obtained a prewired all black pickguard.

Your other option is to have the CS build one for you. A small, but significant detail. The white polka dot pattern on the factory guitar is NOT the same as on BG's. You should find photos of both and compare.

For a festival that didn't allow cameras and video there sure is a ton of it on You Tube now.... I think you could almost watch the entire event. Of course the some of the sound and pic quality is not so hot but some of it's pretty good. Check out Joe Bonomassa and Robert Randolph. It's kind of jerky at first but then the OP gets the hang of it.

I've been surfing youtube and...

I loved Robert Randolph and Joe Bonamassa!

Jimmie Vaughan was practically jumping up and down try to get the sound guy's attention about something. Probably trouble with the monitors.

Hubert Sumlin was feeding back horribly (not his fault, again, sound guy).

Of course the sound trouble had to happen with two of my favorites. I'm sure they have some fancy pants way and fixing it for the DVD.

I just hope everyone stays healthy as I think I will have to make the journey over next time.
