There is a difference between quality inexpensive gear and cheap junk.
BEHRINGER makes cheap noisy stuff.

http://www.danelectro.com/ makes decent inexpensive gear.

Riley, I don't proclaim to be a know it all, but I have picks older than you and have been playing guitar over 40 years and a lot of it professionally. People have given me Behringer crap to try out and it was noisy garbage,, some of it was langfill after a half hour because it crapped out.
Don't really need the name calling. I don't know it all, but I think I may possibly know a tiny bit more than you.
It's all cool grasshopper, do what you want.

Behringer dosn't make the best stuff to be exact.

since that pedal you linked us to is a distortion you could always looks at this boss distortion pedal which is similar, better quality and costs a little less.

At least Behringer stuff is mostly affordable. You're right Riley- I'm 17 and I still can't afford a decent amp, let alone some recording equipment too.

I absolutely love my strat (took me about a year and a half to save up for it, its an american standard), but lately I been thinking why I didn't decide to go for something cheaper and have money for a decent amp and possibly just a small recorder.

I can't even afford some pedals either... I have to borrow all of my church's equipment.

I'd rather save a little longer and buy something once. Some of my pedals are 30 years old. I don't use them much. I built a couple that I use when I need them. Junk is junk. It's always a waste of money.

+1 tanner. picked up that pedal for about 30 bucks and it kicked my playing into a whole new level of sound. for it's price, it's incredible. very very easy to use as well.

and congrats on the guitar and new amp, riley. 8) it might be cheap, but if you're fine with it, and YOU think it sounds good, then all the more to you. if it's free, it's worth it. there's no losing in that situation. and i'm sure some day you'll upgrade to a nicer amp. good luck with your new equipment man, have fun with it.

Why let the guy waste his money on something. My local Mom and Pop shop I've been dealing with for years just lends me pedals to try out and let him know what I think. I won't gig with anything he lends me, I just bring it to rehearsals and see what they sound like and let him know how it went. Don't want anything to happen to his stuff. He stopped selling Behringer a while ago because it was too much of a hassle with returns.

I'm well aware of being young and not having money. I started playing guitar when I was 11 in the 60's. Money was tight all way around. I learned on an old plywood guitar with Black Diamond strings that cut my fingers, but I stuck it out. I never had a pedal until my late teens. I think I became a better player because of it. I still like playing without pedals if I can get away with it. Criticism is a part of life, get used to it.

Yeah I've checked it out, looks very cool, i might buy it, but as I said, i'm getting the fd300 for free. My uncles friends got it and he doesn't want it because he stopped playing guitar about six months ago cause he lost his right hand, and he's giving away he's gear, he said he'll give that to him for free cause he's a friend.
