Well I finally did it. I bought myself a 100w Marshall to jam with some friends. Still love my SuperChamp for home practice, but the tone that comes out of that Marshall is just beautiful.

I got the MA100C. It's the entry level all tube amp and it gives me all that classic Marsall sound I was craving.

All tube, all the time, that's the way to go.
Modelling amps suck!

Pay no attention to Floyd, he probably plays through a Line 6. :P

Nothing is "wrong" with Line 6 . . . beside the fact that:

They're solid state
They're modelling amps

I just don't care for either. To my ear, tubes just sound better and modelling amps limit a players ability to develop their own unique sound/tone because you rely on what the amp company thinks its supposed to sound like.

I too have been looking for a new amp. I have been leaning towards the Marshall Haze, see link:

http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/prod ... sku=581910

or the Class 5:

http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/prod ... sku=621064

I just want a classic Marshall tone without spending an arm and a leg. Also I do not do any giging yet, but would like to be able to keep up with a band in small settings. I have been leaning towards the Haze for the built in effects (really the only amp effect I use is reverb) and I do not think the Class 5 has that, so I will have to purchace a reverb pedal to compensate.

You have opened my eyes to another amp for the list; however, now it is going a bit over my price range for a tube amp.
