At that price it's 8 tubes for about a dollar but he wants you to buy all or nothing. Something sounds wrong about that to me. Probably all the guitar amp tubes have been picked through but a deal for a radio repair shop. Maybe. I just thought it was strange as I've never seen a add like that! :?

90% NOS or unopened!!

I posted this elsewhere, but I bought a couple of remaining tube stocks from local tv/radio shops and they had been sorted through pretty well before I got them.I did find some 12AX7s AT7s,one Telefunken 12AX7,and several 6V6 RCAs and other good ones, but most were tubes for obscure radios or old tv tubes that you can't use.For what I gave for them I came out ahead, but have a lot of old tubes taking up space.
You would really need to take a look through a lot of tubes before you bought them to see if it was worth the price....on this bunch in this thread,a $1000 might only buy a couple of hundreds worth of good NOS useable guitar amp tubes...buyer beware.

Yeah, I agree with you for sure but you never know. Here lately I've seen tons of decent guitar, amps, etc. for sale(cheap) in this area of the woods. I guess it's the economy!

I'm glad that Fender bought Groove Tubes. Many dislike them, but I've had good luck with them. Sure, you can get a nice matched set of eurotubes, but for the price, Groove Tubes work for me.

Tubes take up a lot of space and naturally, you have to be careful with and around them. Even at wholesale prices, they can tie up an awful lot of money.

More years ago than I care to count, the owner of the electronics repair facility I started out at decided to do a similar bulk unload. We only kept (and reordered for stock) the common ones for better amps and certain better console radios. Here too, if we had plenty of 6L6 tubes, there would be an acute demand for EL34 tubes. We'd get them in and that run would die off where there would then be a run on 6V6s; get all amply in and 12AX7s would be the demand of the week. We just never could hit it right. And then there was the whole matching of sets too where every so often we'd have an oddball which would sit around with other oddballs, adding up until we were able to match them with other oddballs.

I can definitely see why the seller wanted to make a clean sweep of it all.

I could see getting rid of what I have also, they do take up a lot of space....but unless somebody was trying to repair tube tv's or old radios, there's no use for them,I do hate to just chunk 'em.
