Hope that he recovers quickly. I'm planning on seeing them this summer.

It shouldn't surprise anyone though.

Busy only in spurts; more watching from the sidelines than anything else.

It's a wonder that a lot more of the rock stars haven't had to have liver transplants. If Kieth Richards was a normal human being he would definitly be on his forth of fifth liver. That man's constitution warrants scientific study,it's miraculous that all his major organs haven't shut down.He has embalmed himself with thousands of gallons of Jack Daniels and has kept the pharmaceutical companies afloat for decades yet we never hear of him getting as much as a sniffle.still people who have lived clean and drug free and have lived healthy like Linda McCartneycontinue to develop all kinds of maladies.Maybe there's something to be said for embalming before death lol.I hope that Gregg has a full recovery and doesn't burn out this liver,he has been given a second chance,I hope he takes advantage of it and changes his lifestyle.

"Allman began treatment for Hepatitis C in 2007 but chronic damage to his liver led to the transplant. He had been on the waiting list until doctors found a suitable liver.

Lehman said Allman got the call late Tuesday afternoon and drove to Jacksonville from his home near Savannah, Ga., for the early morning surgery."

I saw a friend right before he passed due to Hepatitis C and it wasn't a pretty picture by any means.

I wonder if money talks when it's a situation like waiting for a donor for something like this?

I can echo that. Very nasty, from what I've seen. I wonder how he caught it? We can probably guess...

Ah well, we need his musical presence, if not some of his other doings...

Cheers - C

You'd be mighty naive to presume otherwise.

I love Gregg's musicianship, but considering how he has lived,it's a wonder he made it this far.Although I've only met him briefly,I have a couple of friends who have been close to Gregg in the past and the stories they have told make me think he's aways had a guardian angel....which is good.I knew his grandmother and she told me that you never saw Duane without Gregg at his side, and I along with everyone else, figured Gregg wouldn't make it without him.
I hope he gets well....he is my favorite blues singer...and a great songwriter.

+1 How long do you think David Crosby waiter for his?

It's a shame, Greg was one of the original "Wrecking Crew" and a serious talent. He had a long history of substance abuse and it finally caught up with him. He's been clean for a while, but sometimes what's done is done. I wish him nothing but the best and a speedy recovery.
