Heat index here is well over 100 pretty much everyday. Terrible for the fishing. Always looking for deep water or deep cover, too bad there's no cover for the guy in the boat.

i wish i was fishing! all that oil around here will mess up out boats engines so my dad won't take it out, plus even if we caught something i wouldnt want to eat it.

yeah BP's doin such a great job... i sure that yacht race was of the utmost importance.... :?
Like our president said , what he's going to do suck it up with a straw? Our president obama was golfing that day.

Not sure where you are getting those numbers from
http://www.wunderground.com/US/LA/New_Orleans.html
I don't dispute it sucks there but lets not exaggerate...

My bad those number were from a couple days ago when this thread was started. It's only going to get to about 94 degrees today!!

Well ... it's still bad there... no matter what...
The worst has to be Dallas or Houston when it gets over 100... Yuck... But Lousiana ain't no picnic either... Our worst weather is in July when the humidity rises just a little bit with 110+... There is one day that will always remain in my memory about 3 years ago when it got up to 118 and the day ended with a thunderstorm that brought the temperature down to 102.... There was steam coming off the streets after the storm... that was the hottest day I have ever been in...

Now, that's hot!!

96 outside right now fhop and I think they are saying 99 for a high today then cooling back down to low 90's tomorrow. Then back to the mid 90's the next few days.

It's cold enough to pop the nipples on a wooden Indian here today.I was out in the garden this morning and had to come in as even with a jacket and hat on the chill went right through me,so far this summer has been like a mild winter.

I miss the cold weather but not the five feet of snow outside.

i should have left out the "exagerate" part of my post and simply asked you where you got those numbers... sorry....

I looked up that day I talked about.. it was July 21 2006 118 with humidity enought to produce thunderstorms... Its rare enough to get 115+... But to get it with that kind of humidity is un-heard of...

Took my girl fishing today at a nearby lake. She caught a bunch of bluegill, one of which was a really nice size. The heat absolutely shut the bass down tho. Not so much as one strike and I nearly went through every bait in my two tackle boxes. And you guys are right, I shouldn't complain, since the fishing in the Gulf is completely wrecked now.

Yes we have a couple great reservoirs around me and the Bass are not doing to much in day with the heat but evening and early morning they are hitting poppers. Triadelphia is getting some nice Crappie.
We did hit 100 today and tomorrow they are calling for 90 because of a cool front going thru.

I have a friend who has to go to Abu Dhabi next month. the daytime temps there haven't been under 105 (heat indices over 120) in a couple weeks and even the night time heat index has been over 100.

y'all can debunk global warming all you want but when I grew up in DC from 1973 - 1990, the highest temperature I ever experienced was 98.. Now, hitting 100 in DC happens about once or twice every summer... What the heck happened ??

global warming IS happening, but its natural, not man made... Earth goes through these cycles rather regularly
