Got my amp this morning. I'm a little miffed that I didn't get a packing slip because I need it for the sanpera pedal. I called and they're going to mail me one asap. Always something.

I'll post pics a little later this weekend. I'm practicing so I can make a basic vid of my sucky playing.

The autowah has a twangy sound without using it, but other than that, it seems like a good purchase. I can play around with the settings and stuff to get different sounds.

This thing is frickin' loud, even on volume 2. Wow.

Congrats LVA, what amp model did you finally decide on?

Kindly, do not diss your current state of playing skill. We are all going through a learning curve with playing, though your current level does not please you.

Secret here, most of ous are not pleased with outr level of skill, this writer included. So, we continue playing.

You might want to look into a really excellent book, Philip Toshio Sudo's "Zen Guitar." It allows you to revel in "Beginner's Mind" and appreciate evnn one plucked note in its all but unimaginable magnificence.

I got a Peavey vypyr 75W. I figure it has a lot of effects on it and I got a pretty good deal on it. I figure I'd want to save up money for a better Fender guitar in a couple of years rather than an amp right now (not sure if that makes sense).

Will post pics more towards the weekend.

So True! I can't stand my playing skill... I'm not to shabby but I feel stuck in my learning... :x

Great choice of amp Lady VA,the Peavey VYPYR is a tone demon and is plenty loud for all but the largest venues.Enjoy.P.S. don't be so down on your playing, some day it will all come together, all it takes is dedication and perseverance and most importantly ...a POSITIVE attitude.

Thanks. I'll post pics later. Had two power outages yesterday and the tornado sirens were going nuts. (nothing hit by my so whew.)

Has anyone ever updated their vypyr? I'm kinda afraid to do it. I've been on the peavey forums and everyone is complaining. I'm not going to do it. If it ain't broke, I'm not fixing it.

My old Line6 AX2 has an autowah setting. You can really hang some tricky sounds on the line with something like that.
On this side of the aisle, I have an ZT "The Club" waiting for me to pick up on Saturday. Looking forward to see what the possibilities will be for that one with some external signal processing.....like a Proco Rat.

Lady V.

I tried a 30watt Vyper out at the local shop. I was very impressed. A good robust amp with a lot of options. I wouldn't worry about the wah sound at all. It's probably just a symptom of the effect not being pedal manipulated. A lot of em have a load of treble on em. Infact all the best ones do. The syptom will go away once you put your toes to the pedal.

I too like everyone else am not happy with my playing. Hence the constant strive for improvment.

LVA,

Glad your amp came in, can't wait to hear it. I am also in the market for a bigger amp. I am reading good reviews about the Vyper series from Peavey.
