I just thought I'd be brave and post a quick instrumental riff I taught myself a little while back.
It's not long and you've may have heard a lot better. I know I have.

Hey pal,

You got some attack going for you! :D

I think you have a Buddy Holly vibe. Why don't you give Peggy Sue a go?

Thank you stratoBobster for the compliment. :D
It's still an ambitious cover for me. Buddy Holly and the Crickets were my personal introduction to rock and roll. For me, Buddy and Chuck Berry are my alltime favorite rock and roll guitarists or at least at the top of the list. There was a lot of great talent then and there is still a lot of great talent out there today. I'm in it for the enjoyment. Though I may be able
to teach myself by ear, in spite of my severe hearing impairment, I really learn from others. Without others, be they big guitar stars, undiscovered, amatures, hobbyists, instructors, I wouldn't get as far I have. So I tip my hat to anyone who plays a musical instrument from beginner to masters.
I must also tip my hat to the songwriters from least to greatest, without whom, there wouldn't be a song for me to play.
There is simply a lot of great material to choose from today and I cannot
imagine what it must have been like being a pioneering artist having no example to draw from but from within.

Please excuse me if my gratitude sounds like an award acceptance speech.
I guess it's my very first taste of performing for an audience even though
it's over the internet.

I thank you for taking your time to hear me play and for the encouraging compliments.
:D :D :D

Thank you GTG, I am pleased that you found my attempt to be
an enjoyment to you. That's very pleasing to me. :D :D :D

I am currently thinking about the two applauses I have recieved and how
it makes me feel good that someone appreciates my attempt to express
my enjoyment of the phenonominal talent Buddy had and how much he
contributed in such a tragically short space of time. It gives me pause
to reflect on how we can influence others by what we do. I strongly believe
that without Buddy, the music we know, wouldn't be the same.
With humbled respect to Don McClean, I for one, don't believe the music
ever died. In fact, I think it only broaden it's horizons.

Thank you again for your comment and for giving me a nano-fraction of your time.

:D :D :D
