you are making my point for me, you got mad in the Mayer topic because I posted something you didn't like and took offense to and went on the attack. anyone can and will see that. yet again you reintroduce this same thread you always cite and show how upset you got that someone else would have the nerve to post something you disagree with. the nerve of anyone to do that. fwiw, if the same topic was posted again today I would post the same reply and I won't apologize for it.

yes, I would tell them to keep it, under those circumstances at least. because first of all once someone gives me something it is mine and I am going to do as I please with it...at which point I would sell it and pocket the cash or buy another guitar. you're trying too hard to prove your point by putting all these what-ifs and scenarios in the mix. I don't like Les Paul guitars for the most part, but I would definitely accept a vintage one from 78 or earlier. again, you take issue with the fact that I don't want a Les Paul unless it is 1978 or more vintage...you disagree with that premise and go on the defensive, which is fine by me.

now yet again to avoid having to go back and forth with your dumba$$ go ahead and have the last word, knitgirl.

Dont ever apologise mate, you've done nothing wrong. Also it's not you who sparks controversy and discontent everywhere you post.

Anyways I'm off to squeeze these spots I haven't had for twenty three odd years.

it really is kind of entertaining once you take a step back and assess it for what it is. but we are all here for some entertainment so it works out.

cheers

You really should change your screen name from BCB to DIMWIT.

Pay attention...I will take this slow so hopefully you can get it through your dimwitted skull...I got mad in the Mayer topic because...

1. you began ripping John Mayer in a thread that the original poster created to share his or her joy of just having seen John Mayer in concert.

2. and you stomped on someone else's joy and then never apologized for your rude misdeed.

As I posted before, You can have your opinion BCB but what kind of sick, uncaring, turd hole starts putting down an artist when the creator of the thread was trying to share their excitement and joy about having seen John Mayer live and sharing that with the forum.?

OK, I shouldn't have to tell folks that this type of posting is simply not acceptable here. As a general golden rule if you wouldn't be comfortable saying something directly to a person's face, do not post it here either.

Anyway, there are really only a few options here:
(1) Take all forms of bickering offline and start duking things out via e-mail so that it's kept amongst yourselves and not absorbing pixels on your fellow members' screens. In order to pursue this option simply e-mail me directly and I'll put you lovebirds in touch with each other.
(2) Agree to disagree and move on so that we can get back to talking about gear and music, or ...
(3) consider going away altogether and finding a new haunt.

Knitgirl, no matter who's right and who's wrong here these are some pretty bold words from someone who's only 133 postings in to their experience here -- I'd highly recommend engaging 'cruise' mode for a while until you're a bit more seasoned here.

This is the route I choose when these types of back and forths come up. I respect anyones right to post their opinions as long as they conform to the TOS set for these forums.

I was wondering how this went on for five pages. Now I know. Someday maybe you guys will learn not to pick on her and then you won't get a new one ripped. I think she's a hoot. (As long as I don't get ripped.) :)
