Hey all, i'm wondering how many of you have a practice guitar that you use to save wear and tear on your favorite axes?

Nah, don't really worry about the wear and tear. I bought my guitars to play them not save them or keep them shiny for gigging.

Yeah, I have a cheap acoustic that performs that task rather well. I can put a scratch on it without feeling guilty.

The guitar I use for practice at any given time is like the guitar I use for any given song. It depends on my mood. I might play my Strat or it could be the Gretsch, or perhaps...

I own three Stratocasters and rotate through then pretty regularly as not not wear them out so quickly.

nope, they all get the same abuse. i do however have a rebuilt gibson explorer that absorbs most of my metallica riffs. seriously, i beat the heck out that guitar.
i do baby my new strat a bit but that will change when the awe wears off. it's just such a great looking instrument. the sound is even better.

I have one acoustic guitar and one electric guitar, so my practice instruments are one and the same. I also have 3 5 string banjos and one tenor banjo and 2 mandolins. I agree with the other poster, my instruments are meant to be played, not just looked at. If I wanted art for the wall I would have bought a painting not an instrument.

I take good care of my guitars but I play the heck out of them (as time permits, family, new baby, etc). I own my guitars, they don't own me, ha ha. I bought them make music not be wall art. :D

I have two Squier Teles that I bought with the intention of using as practice guitars to keep the mileage low on my AM. Deluxe Tele, but they just don't feel or sound the same. I might sell them or use them as mod platforms.

'Personally, 'take good care of the harem and spread the wear out.

And shamefully, 'don't practice much, just play.
