i was working at best buy in 06 and showed my friend who was my boss broadway calls and we came to the conclusion that we need to be a pop punk band and we did it. influences of saves the day, the movielife, lifetime, etc. we stopped playing shows a little while back but we still jam together every once in a while.

I was 24, never had done anything musical before (outside of singing in the shower), got together with some friends, and started screwing around. I became the singer, and picked up the guitar throughout our practices.

Influences are Tool, Alice in Chains, The Doors . . .

Well, I wouldn't call us an official band per se, but we play together close enough. We met because we all worked at Primanti Bros makin sandwiches. Basically we've been playing for a few weeks now and we're making pretty good progress, actually starting to sound like music  Influences are pretty broad, we play whatever the  :?:  :!: we want, long as we can play it ^^

Well we only just recently got together. I've known our singer for about ten years, and our other guitarist for about 6. At New Year we decided that since it was our last year a school to try and get a band together. Still starting out but we're getting there.

I wanna start a band up, and Id like to sing in it and play guitar but I dont think my guitar skills are good enough.
Did anyone get in a band with beginner guitar skills??? And just learn along the way?

Started playing with some friends in a different band after my previous fizzled out some time ago and eventually we started writing and one thing led to another.

Influences: The Clash, Propaghandi, Strung Out, Strike Anywhere, Dillinger Four, Bad Religion, The Bronx, Against Me!, The Ramones

we put a small band together to play for a school function in 1966. somebody heard us who had connections, and we played for about 6 years. since we were about 12 years old, we couldn't play in bars, so we became a wedding/ private party band. best years of my playing career

The drummer I'm working with and I first played together in the mid 70s. He was 26, I was 22. This drummer, our bass player and I worked together in another band in the mid 80s. A year ago I retired from my "real" job that kept me from participating in a band for a very long time. Three months ago this drummer, bass player and I were able to start up again and this really is great.

We've looked at old pictures, listened to old recordings and basically been having a great time putting this band together. Its funny, I'm 56 years old now and they still laugh at me for being the youngest member in the band.

Hmmm well, after many years of solo touring in rileyland, a man approached me saying that he was very pleased with my style of playing and wanted to start a band. I accepted, and we went on tour for almost 3 months (again, in rileyland). I WISH I HAD A BAND

My best friend (drummer) and I went to see a concert, after the concert he turned to me and said "I wanna do that" I replied "don't we all?". A couple days later, after hockey practice, we went up to one of our best players and close friend and asked him if he would sing, he said sure. Now in a couple days we're going to hang out at a few guitar stores and try to find a bassist.

If you wanna bassist go to some open mic nights and public jamming, s'what I'm doing.

I once got in a band with a few school mates. I played guitar and sang, as we were a three-piece band.

The problem was our influences, actually. I liked 60's and 70's stuff like Hendrix and The Who. Our bassist liked 80's hair metal, and our drummer was into country :?

The band disagreed on absolutely everything, and only existed for about a week.
