Van Who?

I have never been a big fan of Van Halen, Although I must admit some of the music is good.

Don't like Jock Rock myself, though I did like "Balance".

EVH sounds like he's trying too hard sometimes, and yet his technique has barely moved on in 30 years. Most confusing.

And he gets credit for what Les Paul did 20 years earlier.

84 and before, you know it. EVH is the God Father of metal guitar and always will be.

My gosh, I can close my eyes now and remember back in 1978 when I put the fist VanHalen album on my turntable and cranked the volume on my receiver. Geeze, it was like hearing music for the very first time. You simply had to be there at that time to even understand what was created.

I personally believe it must have been like what happened in the 60's when Hendrix first appeared. It was hisory and magic.

Yeah, I agree.
I never have really like Van Halen, and as time goes on I seem to like it less and less.

Like many others my age, I wanted to play guitar because of Eddie Van Halen. At that age and having no musical training whatsoever I could've cared less about fretboard tapping or his brown sound, I just wanted to play guitar because Eddie made it look like it was sooo much fun. I mean after watching the video to Panama who wouldn't want to swing across the stage, playing guitar with a giant grin on their face.

Like I've said before.

The fact that he built his guitar for around $100, and that they're now selling replica's for $25000 is astounding.
