That's Andy Fairweather Low, and that strangely configured Stratocaster is undoubtedly a custom job of some sort. I've found a few pics of him with it, and it appears to have two humbuckers in the middle & bridge positions.

Strange, because he used to play an almost carbon-copy of Clapton's rig (EC "Blackie" and all) back in the "Journeyman" tour days...

i figured ole nevin would have made it to this post by now but hes been working with me on a post in the tele forums these last few minutes along with grover.
that is a weird config indeed.
has that guy always been with EC?

agreed. im not a big EC fan either. honestly, i think hes over rated.
i think he got his fame for being on of the first
blues/rock guitar players. now he has done a lot for the blues guitar community as far as keeping it going and "in your face"
for a long time. i do think a lot of us would have suffered w/o his commitment to the blues/rock guitarist.
