If you cannot afford one of the "good" les pauls.. I would highly recommend this.. Its a much better bang for your buck...

The Bluebirds are seriously nice. Guilds in general are really nice. Don't ever be afraid to go outside the Fender and Gibson box. Even if it's an oddball you never even heard of, give it a shot. Two of my favorites are my 57 Dano U1 and my 63 Supro Martinique. My Supro has so many knobs you need a special license just to operate it. LOL Very sweet guitar. Incredible slide guitar too. If you think a LP is heavy, try being 11 years old and slinging a Fiberglas guitar on your shoulder.

I bought my Les Paul new in March of 1975. It was my main instrument forever. Gigging, recording, everything. I loved that guitar. Still do. But, that thing is heavy. When I started having back problems back in the mid 90s I had to stop gigging with it. I gig mainly with a Strat, now. Sometimes I'll use a Gretsch but not much. I do still do most of my recording with the Les Paul, though.

been wanting a les paul classic, played one about a year ago and i thought i liked it, but i let it go. now i have myself dwelling over getting a les paul, so i went to guitar center yesterday to play a few.. well 5 actually. a standard, a traditional, a traditional pro, and 2 epi les pauls. and i played an sg classic with p90s. .....and a few strats and teles and a sweet pink squier strat.

overall, i hated the gibsons and the epis were better in ever aspect. i couldnt find the right feel, i couldnt find a good tone to save me and it just wasnt comfortable.

with all that said, i come home rather disapointed but i find myself on musicians friend website gawking at the new traditionals. ...is it me or is there just something about them??? i absolutely love the way they look, but i dont like their tone in the least.

I wish I was that lucky cos' I've never played an Epi that was better than any Gibson, jus' sayin'

The Tributes are pretty close. Really nice, I was surprised myself.
