I recommend using Audacity to process your audio. It's free, and it works very well. You'll also need the LAME MP3 Encoder to save your files as MP3s.

Audacity

LAME MP3 Encoder

Hope this helps! 8)

I downloaded it the stupid thing wont let me work on WMA files cause it says some peice of crap about it being a WMA file

You should be able to work around it by using Audacity's record function. Play the WMA in whatever application you use and record it into Audacity. Then you should be able to manipulate it and save it in whatever format you need.

Red Paul also raises an excellent point. Why are you using WMA format to begin with? Image

Good luck! 8)

my dad downloaded a much easier understanding thing last night that works for me.

Why am I usign it?? Cause the voice recorder only transfers WMA's.

The only problem with a lot of this software? It's all MS-DOS exe files...useless to my Macbook Pro. I have lots of music on my old creative Zen that I'd love to add to my iPod and Mac, but it's all WMA. The creative doesn't even show up on the desktop.

While I admire the Mac OSX for its overall power and (relative) security the fact remains Macs are still only the smallest portion of computers out there and software issues abound that would be so simple in the PC world. What Apple really needs to do if it wants to be THE major player in the industry is to port OSX to run on PCs. The strength of the Mac is the OS, not the hardware. Let's face it, Macs use the same hardware nowadays and with Mac hardware prices that range from 200% to 800% more than PC (depending on level) Apple is barking up the wrong tree if it wants to make a greater number of converts. Until it does we're going to continue to have this issue where the rest of the world has easy solutions where Mac owners don't.

So yah, while it's pretty cool on the surface, sometimes it sucks to be a Mac owner.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
