G-day mate! :)
I know you can't change it in Windows Media Player, but, try your
music download app (such as Napster,iTunes, etc.) where there
may be a application to perform a change to a different format.
I do know Napster has one but am unsure of the others. Hope this helps.

Play on! 8)

Riley,
If you use iTunes, you can add the file to your library, then select it. under the "advanced" tab you can convert it to an mp3

I recommend using Audacity to process your audio. It's free, and it works very well. You'll also need the LAME MP3 Encoder to save your files as MP3s.

I use Trader's Little Helper for most of my conversion needs.

My rule is never use any filetype that includes the word "Windows"! :?

(Sorry, not very helpful, I know.)

Switch Sound File Converter is a free converter that will convert wav's to mp3's.

You should be able to work around it by using Audacity's record function. Play the WMA in whatever application you use and record it into Audacity. Then you should be able to manipulate it and save it in whatever format you need.

Red Paul also raises an excellent point. Why are you using WMA format to begin with? Image

Good luck! 8)

Audacity will record "anything" that goes through your computer's sound card without using a mic :

Just curious... cannot you burn a wma to disc, say a CDRW, and then rip it using media player as an mp3? I've never tried it but I have ripped many of my disc's for the purpose of loading a SD card for my Garmin's mp3 player.

Anyone :?:
