my old strat has been needing some fret work for a long time now , most of them were flat  and the first 5 or so had huge groves in them , so i ordered up a fret file and it arrived yesterday ,so it was full fret redress mode for the strat yesterday and i must say what a difference , it's great having crowned frets again :) . the epi sg also got a bit of a seeing to , the frets were all over the place on it , not now though 8) and the action is now bloody lovely 8) . I was looking at a few adds for fretwork locally online last night and for fretwork they were all starting at *from* £75 , so last night i managed to save £150 , all for the price of the file and a few hours to get 2 guitars playing like a dream again , i might even consider setting up myself to do this kind of work as well , another example of the prices they charge is a setup , new stings , check intonation , check neck relief and clean switches and pots £25 , i'm seriously considering it 8)

Mate get some brasso over the fret tops too.

You know the way that the fret tops are left rough, particularly noticable when you bend strings. Well the brasso wadding cloth will sort that right out.

PS put a extra fiver on for set neck guitars. Bolt on's are infinitely easier to dress and crown. You cant really get in too good at the upper frets of a LP.
