Has anyone ordered from these online vendors before? Which one is better? I'd like to get some gear but wondering which one is better as far as customer service.

Thanks.

LVA,

I have not used American Music Supply, buy have used Sweetwater and Musician's Friend. I am really impressed with the customer service of Sweetwater; however, Musician's Friend has more of a selection of products. I have never had any issues with either and if there is a delay in shipment they let you know.

Honestly I do not buy amps or guitars on-line, just strings, accessaries, and small stuff. I am a firm believer in playing before paying and you tend to get better deals when dealing with people on person.

Thanks. I'm asking because by me, they don't have the Peavey vypyr 75W in stock. However through ams, I can get that amp for 245 total. Is that a good deal? That's the lowest I've been able to get it. I've played a demo model of the 30W. It was banged up a bit, but I did like what I heard.

Hope so. Will be posting pics when they come in or possible a youtube vid. (Should've done that for my Fender Squier--I really held out for that LOL)

I deal with both, but have to say that Sweetwater edges out AMS for the simple fact of having your own Sales Engineer that you work with. Tom who is mine is fantastic. If I find a lower price on anything he beats it everytime and they also call and check in with you just to see how things are going. I really like their customer attention.

LVA,

Let us know how you like the new amp when you get it. I am also in the market for a new Tube amp and even though I haven't played Peavy in years, I am waiting for a review to change my opinion and another option. I am leaning on either a Fender Blues JR, or Marshall Class 5. But if I get reviews on the Vyper series, I may have to look at those as well.

I never used AMS so I can't comment on them. My wife ordered me some goodies for Christmas from Sweetwater and raved about how great/nice their customer service was. She said if she is doing the ordering to surprise me that is the only place she'll order from based on her experience. Can't argue with that endorsment!

I have had very good experiences with Sweetwater, they are freindly, knowledgeable, and customer service is the best. I've never dealt with AMS, but I've never heard anything bad about them.
Cheers.
