Kudos to Slash, but he needs to fire his security and get new people.

To the guys who said it was funny, I guess you don't remember (Dime..)Darrell Abbott being gunned down on stage. This is a lot scarier than you think. This could easily have been the same thing all over again.

Just been watching some pantera vids and totally overlooked how very right you are Twelve! [/b]

Slash handled it like a pro, glad it turned out OK.

you're right, don't you think a good tech would have brought out another guitar right away. Anyone remember SRVs quick as a flash guitar change from Austin City Limits, didn't miss a beat.

+1 totally pro ... Good on Slash!!

I also agree with the comment that the tech should have been quicker on the draw with the backup guitar.

Security really dropped the ball too, I know it's a tough job, but that's unacceptable.

The way he handled himself was just plain awesome. Got right back in his groove and kept it rolling even after having to switch guitars. All I can say is... "WOW!"

Having just gotten back from a motorcycle rally... it's easy for some guys that haven't been around much to say "I would do this or that!" ... but the truth is there is little time to think, never mind react properly, when something starts in a huge crowd like that. A couple of 1% clubs got into it at one of the well known hangouts and all holy hell broke loose. The prudent person leaves well enough alone.

And yea, that DID sound like Axl Rose on vocals...unless it was a soundalike, like Journey's singer. :o

It was Myles Kennedy. I saw them at Download. I thought he would be OK after hearing him in Alterbridge, but he was absolutely amazing. I think his voice is way better than Axls. He seems to have a lot more range. Hopefully his voice will last a lot better than Axls, as when I saw him in the fake GnR his voice wasn't a patch on what it used to be.

Regarding the vid, props to Slash, its amazing how many idiots there still are in the world (regarding the guy that crashed the stage!)

I say cut the security guy a bit of a break, but I definitely agree the guitar change took ENTIRELY too long. Almost long enough to suggest they had to tune one. If that is the case it should be somebody's head. And definitely professional on Slash' part. I'm not sure I could have been so cool.

How do they know it was booze and not lust.

Well that sets a train of thought running. I wonder... could that be Forum user Celtic Cyclonus trying to man-hug his new best friend?
