Just wanted to throw out a happy Father's Day weekend to all us Dads, pops, father's, daddios, etc. I hope everyone has a great weekend and gets to spend time with their babies... The wood one's with the strings AND the ones that make us truly happy.

Keep up the good work fellas! :D

about 50 years ago, my dad bought me my first guitar- a fender musicmaster. a few years later, a strat was added to the mix. there is no way i could ever repay him- thanks dad

i now have a 5 week old grandson, who will be getting one of my guitars in a few years, and all of my stuff eventually if he decides he wants to stay with it. i can't wait...

to all the dads out there- thanks for all you have done for us, musically and otherwise :D

Happy Father's Day to all.

Special shout out to my dad--former USAF, almost drafted into a major league farm team to play short stop (Pittsburgh I believe), basketball player (5'7 but that never stopped him), bought me my first guitar (yamaha eterna classical). He got into an accident 2 plus years ago (still don't know what really happened since no one will talk to us about it), was in a coma for four months, and woke up a quadriplegic (now has minimal use of right arm). I miss my daddy and the way he was but glad he's here now.

"Off we go, into the wild blue yonder, flying high, into the sky..."

Fave memories of dad:

*Voted "best legs" by the girls in high school. (They thought he was a cutie in shorts)

*Bumped a bully in basketball. In high school, there was a bully on the b-ball team. When dad was in the air to shoot a ball, the bully was coming right at him to block. Dad hit him with his hips and butt and he fell like a ton of bricks to the ground.

*Some teenagers called him an 'old man' when dad confronted them in front of the house because they were peeing on his lawn in front of us. Dad said, "I'll give you old man," and chased after them, jumping the gate right up to their house, banging on the door for an apology.

*When in the USAF, there was a guy who was real mean in their troop. Dad conned him to wear his hat on the wrong way. A CO caught the mean guy with his hat on the wrong way and he got latrine duty for a month.

*When it rained, he used to wear his bathing suit and wash the car.

*He mooned his boss.

*He almost mooned the customs agent in the airport. The guy was real obnoxious checking all his stuff, so dad kindly offered to drop his pants if he wanted to check there. The guy said, "Oh hell no" and let dad go.

*He drove one of the richest people in India in his Chevrolet. The guy from India was excited to ride in an American car.

*Dad gave me a hug when I was a kid when I was all alone downstairs and thought no one cared.

I love you dad.

Two days ago, my Dad turned 81. I call him a lot since 850 miles separates us. I laughed to get a Father's Day card from him. I said to my wife... I'm not his father!   I am going to call him right after I post this. It's after 11:00 AM so he'll likely be up, but there's never any guarantee on his hours of sleep.

The best thing to happen to me today was a text/picture message from my daughter that showed a motorcycle and a Happy Father's Day Dad. 8)

I slept late, had a rough trip to Laconia for the rally... I think I'm going to have to stop drinking... at least stop drinking to excess.
