Steve Miller just came out with a new album a few days ago. I think it's his first album in about 17 years.
Apparently he covered three Jimmie Vaughan songs on it, along with several blues standards. I'm a huge Steve Miller fan, as well as a huge blues fan so I'm curious to hear what people think of it. :)

Ahhhh the Steve Miller Band 8) I'll never forget the time I saw him live in Glasgow (Abracadabra Tour (sp)) I was driving a Mercedes at the time, had my brother drop me and some friends at the door of the Apollo. The doormen (bouncers) thought we were the band! We were all out of it, and ended up at the dressing room door  It wasn't until we produced our tickets and asked where our seats were, the security guys sussed us

Steve is a pretty darn good picker imo. I think the owner of my local dealer knows Steve, because he has a bunch of his old gear on consignment there. Lots of nice guitars, and amps, all signed, and priced cheaper than new gear! 8)

I can officially say, I played one of Steve Millers 59 Les Paul reissues! I still wish I could have bought that thing.

Tom Petty has a new album that just came out, or is coming out soon that is supposed to be a blues album. I'm interested in checking that out.

Just heard the samples off itunes. Pretty cool, I might pick it when I'm in Austin as a birthday present. :)

I remember when they were the Steve Miller Blues band. A little trivia for those that don't know...Les Paul was Steve's Godfather! He even sang a couple of songs at the private memorial service.

The new album is a return to all blues and I love it!!! 8)

Just bought it on itunes. Loving it! Saw him last February or March in Hawaii, and it was such a great show. IMO, slightly better than the Chicago show they released on DVD, but with an almost identical setlist.

New album is great! Definitely taking some great old songs and giving them his own unique flavor.

The Steve Miller Band opened for Sly and the Family Stone in Feb or March of '69 at the Auditorium Theater (or was it the Chicago Theater) .I was there with 3 friends, 2 of them guitar players. It was a great show, Stevie Guitar Miller's band was a trio with some keyboards set-up by Steve, they rocked, and, rolled with the new tripped out sounds from the early synthesizers a perfect warm-up for the family who tore the roof off when they hit the stage, thanks for the heads up Texas I listened to 1 song at the link tdanb2003 posted (thanks tdanb2003) and it is Steve Miller, good to hear him.
