I was listening to Deep Tracks on Sirius Satellite last night and they played a couple of songs from Avalon and I really gave Manzaneras playing a close listen.Manzanera is really a great guitarist whose rarely mentioned when when the topic of great players comes up but his old Firebird VII and his style is one of the tastiest and most recognizable in rock,he's by far one of the most unnoticed of guitar greats and his riffs in songs such as Dance Away,More Than This etc. are just such a vital part of their music. Anyone else a phan of Phil?

that is the beauty of bands like Roxy Music and of new wave/alternative music in general.. Its more about listening to the music... not the players... or how skilled they are... That is what I like... Just sit back and enjoy... When I start to analyze the ability, I miss the whole point of the song...

Listen to an album called 801 Live; Manzanera, Eno, Bill MacCormick, Simon Phillips, Francis Monkman, and Lloyd Watson. Amazing album, and the bass playing by MacCormick is beyond words...you just have to listen, it's that good.
