Brian Anthony Mallon is my hero.

I will explain:

Brian, or BAM as he is known is one of my best friends and a former bandmate from Twisted Rose who now plays in Million Dollar Reload who played Download Festival last year.

Brian toured the States with a band called The Black Molly's who we are friends with. Anyways. E'Nuff Z'Nuff needed a new guitarist so our friend from The Molly's, Tory, steps in.

Brian and Tory's bands are signed to Roadrunner too and their management etc were there at Download and Brian was supposed to get VIP but no one called to put his name on the list so he arranged to meet his management and mentioned I was in a band with him and we were friends. What does the management hand us?

Artist Passes for the final day/night.

I watched Slash from behind the amps on the Main Stage, was standing next to Brad Whitford and Joey Kramer watching him and then Lemmy walks up. Partied in the Cinderella dressing room with BAM til 4am. Stole their beer and took it back to the camp site. Me and the boys had dinner next to Slash. Saw Slash TAKE a Slash. Best ever. Got wasted with Ginger. I could go on. We milked it, got ourselves massages, free merch'. We were in the Aerosmith dressing area. I talked shop with Slash for quite a while. We talked about Steve too. I downed whiskey with Chip Z'Nuff.

Oh my god I could go on!!!

Best day of my life.

Photos coming soon.

  I know! He walked out of his dressing room, top-hat and all, pissed in the corner and then walked to the main stage so we just jumped in with the entourage which included E'Nuff Z'Nuff and right onto the main stage.

He put on his LP and I went over shook his hand and said 'have a good one'. Slash says 'thanks buddy'.

Then I realised he hadn't washed his hands!!

Allow me to translate this for the American crowd:

I saw my number-one guitarist go number one. 8)

No bro. I didn't get to jam with him.

He was busy after his set as he made an appearance with Motorhead then he watched Stone Temple Pilots and Aerosmith's sets as well as giving a press conference.

Thanks so much Hop bro. I had a stellar time!!

I used to watch the Paradise City video which has footage from Donington, where Download is, used to be Monsters of Rock. To be on the same stage with Slash playing the same song was unreal!! Brad Whitford even gave me a cigar and lit it for me while we watched.

It will take a while to come down from this one guys.

Lucky is an understatement!

Andy

Always good to have a translator in the house.

And to put it another way: CC shook hands with his new friend, just after he'd shaken hands with his best friend.

Ew...

Anyhow. Knockout, CC!!! More pix, please! (Though not of the Slash-slashing bit, if you don't mind...)
