Personally, I'm a Strat person, but I thought this was an interesting topic. Tell me what you think!

I like both and find that sometimes I prefer one over the other, but at other times it changes, so I'd say they're both good guitars.

Welcome to the Forum GFG,it's obvious you are a newcomer as this question is one of the most asked in Fenderdom. The simple answer is that there is no "better",it all depends on what your needs are in a guitar. Some may prefer the ""twang" of a Tele to the "quack" of a Strat or one neck over the other. As the owner of 4 Strats and a Tele I can say both are wonderful and versatile guitars and I'll be buying more of each as there are variations of tone among Strats and Teles not all of one model sound alike.Anyone who plays Fender should have at least one of each as the sounds of both are very addictive.

That would be like having to choose wich one of my kids I like better. I love 'em both :) . Imho every one needs at least one Strat and one Tele, it's the only way to keep the Cosmos balanced.

It's like a pair of shoes - dress shoes, tennis shoes, running shoes, work shoes....

For me, a strat is a great "first" guitar because they typically come with the tremolo and 3 pickups, 5 way switches etc. Teles are a great second
guitar for the twang application (I can get some twang out of a strat through technique)

I am looking at simple electric guitar collection set
Strat
Tele
Jaguar
Gibson Les Paul w/ PAF humbuckers
Gibson Les Paul w/P90
(maybe a few more such as ES350 etc)

Gibson makes some great LP guitars but they not as easy to modify as a Strat or Tele. (options are less in part due to design differences)
Fenders can be modified extensively with relative ease due to that bolt on neck.
Gibsons are kind of limited.

i have to agree with the others. theres no way to say which is better.
theres a time and a need for both in my playing.
i like the sound of both. i would suggest that it all come down to the style of music you play but john5 shot that all to h3ll yrs ago.
heavy metal on a tele? the dude rocks lol.

I def like strats better. There have been very few teles I found that I like but I have found a few and when I find the right one I will get it. I like the sound just not the feel.

There is no "better", but I'll always take a Stratocaster over a Telecaster.
