Hi Alan,I always have my Jimmie Vaughn Strat and my Epi Casino and G400 Custom(3 pup SG bodied Les Paul)close at hand, that way I can pick up the guitar that suits my mood.Personally I find the Casino, especially the John Lennon model the most comfortable guitar to play and when the arthritis is particularly bad I find that I can play the Casino much longer.I think that everyone should have a single coil,a humbucker equipped and P 90 equipped guitar in their arsenal, with all these you can replicate just about any guitar tone out there.

riley , i was thinking the same myself :)
CC , go for it mate , more classy than a tele :)
and it's funny you should mention p90's guitslinger  i've been thinking about this lately , i was toying with the idea of a sheraton , but a casino or a lp with p90's might fit the bill nicely 8)
As for my strat , i need to do a little fret work , most of them are worn flat and the first 3 or 4 have deep groves in them , so i'm waiting on a file arriving to sort it out , cheers
Alan

Hehe I would round out Guitslinger's list with a hollow, or semi hollow bodied electric, which he has covered, and an additional pickup selection, being everyone needs some kind of Filtertron equipped guitar. there's just that certain classic tone you can only get with F-Holes and filtertrons.

That's why I have my Strat, Tele and SG all hanging next to each other on the wall. I swap off and switch around all the time.

I don't know how I could have forgotten to mention Filtertrons or Hi-Lo trons as my 66 Tennessean is one of my favourites and it slipped my mind that I even had it.You're right Twelvebar, the Filtertrons and Hi-Lo Trons for that matter have a tone that can't be replicated, early George Harrison and Chet Atkins riffs don't sound the same on anything but a Gretsch.

alan welcome back to to your Strat. I know you were in the Epi zone for quite awhile now. It is great when you have a couple of real good axes so you can change things up, as each one has a different story to tell. I dont know about you, but some of the best and hardest stuff I have ever written was actually on my acoustic.

I've put my Strats aside . . . for another Fender. My Jazzmaster is fixed at last! The wonky toggle switch finally died. I replaced the switch, cleaned it up, got new strings and a proper setup, and now it's my current favorite (for now, I always go back to #1 eventually). I love playing a Blues lead using the rhythm circuit -- warm and full. 8)

My daughter loves her Strat. She gets a great sound with a Frontman 25R. Hendrix does sound magnificent on a Strat.

iust have played the strat for near on 6 hours yesterday 8) most of that brushing up on hendrix licks :D today i'll be working on a few tracks , castles made of sand and probably little wing , i also need to brush up on some of the older ones i used to play as well , i tuned the sg to e flat for playing along to most of his stuff , i can't be arsed detuning the strat :P , i also did some testing for some more drive with the marshall for solo's and stuff , i've settled on the marshall bluesbreaker pedal , it has a boost setting that just boosts the signal , sounds sweet :) and the double muff for some fuzzy sounds :) i thought the guvner would have been in the settup but it just wasn't doing it for me , it might need some more volume , i'll try it out later :) cheers
Alan
