I can confirm that there is a community in Newfoundland called Dildo and the name comes from the shape of a natural peninsula of land in the community,there is also a place called Dildo Run.We have an abundance of weird place names such as Nick's Nose.Joe Batts Arm,Come-by-Chance, Virgin Arm,Happy Adventure and countless others.Some larger maps have the names of many of our towns and bays printed on them. There were once towns called Hibb's Hole and Gayside but they were changed for obvious reasons.
