Just wondering if there's any special product i can use to clean the smudges, fingerprints off my acoustic. right now i'm using a simple camera lens cleaning cloth, but it doesn't quite do the trick. i'm assuming it's not safe to use water, so what can be used? thanks for the help.

btw, i'll try to post some pictures of my acoustic soon. just got it a couple weeks ago

Hi Jake,
Check out your local music shop, there are plenty of product out thre for that. I use dunlop brand, but there are a ton of good quality "safe" brands available.

I clean mine with naptha and then wipe it down with one of the Fender yellow cloth things. Works pretty well.

I just use a regular microfiber/cottonterry cloth and Fender Meguires cleaning spray and polish to remove any sweat or smudges then finish it up with a quick buffing with guitar polish. To clean the neck use lemon oil just wipe on let sit for a minute or so then wipe it dry. Do this with every third string change and it will look new for a long time.

I'm not so sure about that Lizard spit but...... to each his own.
I've been using Smith's polish and my friend uses Martin so there's at least two for Martin polish.
I've been warned against using furniture polish though I hadn't thought of
using it so I will pass that warning along.
Also, automotive wax while tempting, isn't really recommended.
Be sure to follow directions whatever proper instrument polish you go with.

You might also determine if your instrument is coated with polyurethane or
nitrocellulous laquer which may require a different polish. I personally don't know but someone else might know that answer.

I use Martin Polish and a Fender Cloth.
I think any of the name brand polishes will work just fine.
