This looks interesting especially since Dhani Harrison help develop the game.

Yes, 102 button controller, also this:

A Squire strat that doubles as a game controller and perfectly functional guitar

You think there's too many buttons on the 102-button Rock Band 3 Pro guitar? What if it had no buttons at all?

Fender, Harmonix, and MTV Games have partnered on an upcoming guitar/controller hybrid that's exactly what it sounds like -- a guitar controller with six real guitar strings that you can also use as a game controller. Modeled after the Fender Stratocaster, the controller features tech built into the neck and fingerboard of the guitar, making it able to read finger positions in real time. The peripheral will also transfer data for each of the guitar's six strings. Or, just plug the guitar into a standard guitar amplifier.

And the gfact that the keys and drums work with ANY MIDI kb or drums, and I am seriously impressed. They are actually trying to teach people how to play instruments.

Wow, this could be a very good thing to help kids get into music. I'm old school, Guitar Hero came out a whole year after I started playing guitar.

And since I typically cream the Expert level, this looks like it could be something that's fun for me too. I just wish that one day I could plug my real existing guitar in directly. The only problem with all this new stuff is that it's more pricey.
