In 1989, I bought my first electric...a 1980 G&L F100 with the series II neck profile...

global strat copy. my mom who worked 2 jobs as a single mother bought it for me to stop my constant begging. only condition was to learn to play it. 3 free lessons at a community center and the teacher bailed on us. my sisters boyfriend gave me a box of albums ranging from black sabbath, kiss, ac/dc and so on. the rest is history. i taught myself.
good ole' mom.

It was red....it made lots of noise...and i didnt know you had to tune it...all i needed was the top two strings for smoke on the water!! lol My mom got it for me when i was like 14. I knew nothing about guitars, but i knew i wanted to be a rockstar!... We couldnt afford the payments so I had to take it back to the store. Thats when i gave up,

My 1st electric was an MIJ Dover(a 3/4 size vaguely like a Jazzmaster)that I got for Christmas in 67-it has yet to get a scratch despite all the years of use.I still have that and the 5 Watt Paul amp(Pine Electronics Montreal) that I got with it.I run the Paul through my 4-12 Marshall cab and it sounds fabulous.

A Washburn by Lyon that I received for Christmas in maybe....2006? 2007? Somewhere around there.

His name's Commander, and I still have him, and (hopefully)always will. :)

I bought my 1st electric guitar in NY city in 1985. It was Peavey T-26 Stratstlye guitar. It came as sunburst, maple neck and three bar pick ups. I paid about $150 for it. It was great guitar, but I hated changing strings. The bridge design was a beast for changing strings.

I ended up trading it for a MIJ '62 Telecaster Custom. I loved that guitar.

At the ripe old age of ten yarn, i strapped on my black n' white silvertone slung low, not a hair out of place. I didn't even know a single chord yet, but i was the man! A true rising star, and juke box hero all the way! The rest is history, playin' and doin' up lead vocals since i was 15. Living the glory days, And i'm still addicted at 57, with no end in sight! I love it man, it's in my soul! And i know i'm in good company here, I have no doubt that most of you share this feeling. It's that music mojo, that makes us all keep picking those instruments up. We just have to! It's our very special way of life. That's why we keep coming here as well. To get together with our kind. Our clan, our brotherhood of smooth groovers, regularly visiting to share our feelings, our hopes, plans, our trials in life, and we find real support from truly caring people who are the real deal! And all that precious knowledge so willingly shared by so many, who are involved this beatiful, soul satisfying, oh so rewarding, musical lifestyle. Can i get a witness up in here?!
