Winning the lottery, any lottery, is an integral part of my retirement plan... I'll be working 'til I win it...

I'll buy the occasion $1 instant every now and again out of a vending machine but honestly I don't have money to waste on lottery. Beyond that though. while I can't speak for other parts of the world, "lottery people" around here (N.E. Ohio) are beyond a mere annoyance...they're down right rude and inconsiderate. Nothing like stopping in to a gas station to get a pack of smokes or a gallon of milk and having to stand there for 15 to 20 minutes while some dipsh*t idiot blows $50 to $100+ on freakin' lottery tickets. The way I see it is if you want to ruin your life because you can't control your gambling addiction, great...more power to ya...but don't inconvenience others just to do it. If you have a line of people standing there waiting behind you, step aside and the let the cashier take care of them first...ya got plenty of time to throw your money down the toilet later.

What's worse is that it truly amazes me these so called "old people" who are always whining about living on fixed incomes and such...can't even afford to buy groceries for themselves, yet they always seem to have at least $20 a week to throw away on lottery tickets. Personally I feel that people who are on food assistance such as food stamps or such (here in Ohio it's the "Direction Card") should be banned from playing the lottery...if you can afford to play the lottery, you can afford to buy your own damned food.

Obviously this doesn't apply to everyone who plays the lottery but here in Ohio, A LOT of these people have a serious gambling problem. I've known people who have literally used mortgage money to pay for their gambling...and "lottery" -is- gambling...it's absolutely pathetic.

So again...yea, I'll play an occasional $1 instant out of a vending machine...and by "occasional" I mean -less- than once a month. I may buy as many as 4 or 5 $1 instants a year. I already have enough problems in my life...don't need to add being a gambling addict to it. Seriously...if you really feel the over-whelming compulsion to toss your money away like that, toss it my way instead...I'll at least make sure it gets put to good use.

Just my opinion,
Jim

Go for it, 'cause you never know.
I won five grand a few years ago off NY Mega Millions, that was great, and I wish I was able to hold on to it, but that was how i got a new truck. Now the bad(?) part-- I WAS ONE (1)!!!, JUST ONE LOUSY, F%$$#@!!ING NUMBER AWAY FROM $$$68,000,000.... 68 MILLION BUCKS,CLAMS,SCHMOLENS,GREENBACKS     I WOULD HAVE MORE GUITARS THAN ALAIN LAFRANCE!!

So...Yeah, anyway, if you can't come up with a dollar bill to blow on the Lottery, I bet you can dig around the couch cushions for a couple a quarters. Good Luck

I'll have a go when there's a jackpot but I'm not a regular player. The odds are too long to make it worth playing more often. That said, I make sure not to look at the winning numbers when I don't play - I'd go nuts if I saw my regular numbers come up when I didn't have an entry...

I play the lottery whenever I remember to buy a ticket. I know several people who have won between 2million and 15 million. You can,t win if you don,t play.

I once won 25 bucks in the lottery, so anything's possible.

The lottery is a tax on people who don't understand probability. :?

That being said, I buy a ticket for almost every drawing of the Texas Lotto.

But even if I don't win, the money goes to the education fund. Anything for the kids, right?

I buy one once a month . I know that the odds are against me but it is a cool way to kick start that "what if " dream.

While the odds are impossible, someone does with the lottery just about every time they have a drawing so, "YOU GOTTA BE IN IT TO WIN IT!" :P

I deliberately dont enter lotteries because i'd be worried that i might win. If you look at the number of jackpot winners that have had their lives ruined then it makes no sense to even buy a ticket!

I am honestly concerned about the minds of people that think if you buy a lottery ticket once in a while you're addicted or could get addicted to gambling. Maybe a little examination is in order.

I buy lottery tickets when I remember to. I haven't won the big prize yet!
