I am not watching, to be honest I do not care at all. Watching a couple of adults? running after a ball......, I am not interested.

However I like the world cup, whenever Holland is playing it is so nice and quit outside, it is great.

Be ready to say goodbye to your team on friday then.

betting against Holland right now doesn't seem like a sure thing. That's why they play the game though, I like their chances for an upset to shock the world. Let's be honest here, aside from the game against Chile, Brasil has not exactly played Jogo Bonito in this World Cup. They may just be peaking at the right time though.

The next set of games look very tight to me. I think Spain will win their game but the other three could go either way but if I had to predict a last four, it would be.
Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Spain.
So, that's probably put the kiss of death on all of them. :?

Spain is another team that seems to be peaking at the right time, even without their best player being 100%. They have that smooth possession game and confidence back and see poised to advance although it won't be an easy victory.

I have Germany beating Argentina in a game where Messi and Co run into a team that can both out physical them and play tactical football with them.

I know I couldn't be against Brasil but I see an upset in that game.

Uruguay beats Ghana on the strength of their D and Ghana's 2 best players not being 100%

It's possible Messi won't play. He is sick and didn't train today.

Elano won't play again, that leg hurt in the game against Ivory Coast is still bad and he quit the last training session early, looking sad. Bummer. Dani Alves will be substituting him again.

Brazil 2x0 - Holland will try to attack us, but won't be able to get past Lúcio and Juan, making the way open to Robinho and Luís Fabiano.

Nope, they haven't played "bonito", and honestly, they won't (at least I'm not expecting) :) save for a few moments here and there. The style of playing in the national team changed alot since that terrible defeat in 2006. Dunga gives a lot of attention to the defense, exploring more the counter-attack opportunities and such tactics rather than individual talents with little unit and attacking all time.

Anyway, it's almost sure he will be fired after the Cup, Brazil winning or not. He's kinda polemic over here and the media hates him.

Nice, I have many friends from Curitiba and a lot friends from Sao Paulo.

SO yeah

Goal #1 by Robinho WAS JOGO BONITO! That was a perfect pass through the back line.

I don't know what happened to the team when we came back to the 2nd period...

Seems it's a bye bye

SO...

game is over, we're going back home!

Yeah and I have to print this page and eat my last posts! But we have to believe in our teams right? :)

Conclusions (since everybody is a football coach):

-Felipe Melo never again, please.
-Better communication between the players - that first Dutch goal happened cos' goalkeeper x field player (Felipe Melo, by the way) both went for the ball at the same time. It was that kind of goal that shouldn't ever happen. The team just acted even worse after that.
-More skilfull players that "carry the ball" and create offensive plays. Kaká isn't in top form it's been months, he can't carry all team. I wouldn't touch the defense at all, but most of the midfield would go.
-Dunga should have used 3 forwards in that last half of the 2nd period, instead of changing one forward for another (L. Fabiano for Nilmar).

And at last, but the most important: there was this emotional desequilibrium during the second half...experient and less experient players getting nervous, Dutch players jumping in the faults, using the psychological side of the things...

Anyway, better losing now than in the final.

Please Holland, win the Cup now (I don't really think they will but.. ). I'd be happy with Uruguay or Paraguay too.

holland were dead an buried ... brasil were all over them ...until the equaliser ... towards the end brasil were haggard and were a disgrace to football imho. a case of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory

holland to the final i suspect

Holland will be missing 2 starters for the next match and I expect that to effect them. Especially with DeJong being such a big part of their team.

I think Uruguay wins 1-0 in a battle against Ghana today, although as much as I have enjoyed watching Uruguay play and their stout defense, it wouldn't upset me to see Ghana pull out the win.

Wow, Brazil out! but in the end I think Holland deserved it, Brazil seemed to lose all control of the game and themselves towards the end.
So, one surprise, will there be more?
