Wow!! Italy out! They haven't looked too good though but still a surprise, I thought they would still get through. Great game, especially the second half. Won't seem the same without the Italians.
Paraguay through as well, another South American, this tournament is wide open this time for any team that's up for it.
England just might have a chance, I think they will take the Germans out next game but they have a difficult route. Well, if you're gonna win it, you have to take what comes, so we'll see.

I am going for Germany there especially if it goes to penalty shoot out.

Ah! but did you know we've been practising our penalties this time? and don't forget Germany have actually missed one in this competition, have they lost their touch?
Besides, Nah, I don't think it will get that far.

off to italia slovakia game now , is going to be $@!&#* , must win

Though the smart money suggests Germany may actually be easier at the moment than Ghana.

I agree, Ghana has really gotten better with each game even with the absence of their best player.

I agree, one less crappy team

The Italian recovery I expected didn't happen! A pity for the 4-time champions, but as people say, only the strong survive...

I believe more in the USA advancing than England.

Japan x Denamark this afternoon was a great game too, very entertaining. The forward player Honda is a damn good player.

I watched most of the Ital-Slovk match. That was a pretty good one. I saw some of the Den-Jap match. I am watching it at my desk at work, so sometimes I have to actually WORK!

Nah as Rhumba said weve been practising hard for at least 5 weeks  and from what i can tell the "goal" had 2 high vertical posts with a cross bar part way up.

I worry for that camera that sits behind the goal :D

really want Portugal to beat Brasil or at least tie so they can go through. Bra and Por are obviously the best 2 teams in the group.

The Brazil-Portugal game was a drag but they both got what they needed.
I'm really looking forward to the Chile-Spain match, could be a good one. :D

Do we (USA) stand a chance of moving on? I know nothing about soccer! (or whatever the correct name is)

Well Lite'nin, you've come through the group phase and finished top, which means that you now play Ghana in the last sixteen, it's knock-out now which means every game plays to a finish, no draws.
I think you can win that, putting you into the quarter finals and if you win that one, you'll be playing England in the semi's and that's as far as it goes baby.
But you will have had a great run. Hope that explains it pal.

Have a good one yourself man. I'm not sure when your next game is but England play sunday afternoon, so USA could be over the weekend as well, anyway someone will know so, watch this space as they say.
And of course, Good Luck for the game. :D
