Hi all,

I've been playing in coverbands for 5-6 years now, I play because I like to play, not because I like money. But I'm of the opinion that it's more fun to play when the people enjoy the song. I know others are of opinions that you should play what you want to and play it with feeling, and the people will come with you. I believe that to an extent, but in coverbands, theres a set of songs that just HAVE to be played each night to get the crowd going, they came to here you cover these songs ya know?

Now in Australia, "these" songs can include (but are not limited to) "Run to Paradise", "Highway to Hell" or "You shook me all night long", "Holy Grail". And apart from the ACDC one's you're probably looking at those other 2 and going HUH????

Just wondering in other parts of the world, hell even other parts of Australia, what are the big numbers? whats your Set Enders, probably just as importantly what's your Set Openers (they aint liquored up when the set starts ).

For reasons I'm not sure of we always open our night with China Grove/Doobie Bros, and the last one we always play is Come Together/Beatles.

Others we always throw in somewhere are Still the Night/BoDeans, Play that Funky Music/Wild Cherry, and Chicken Fried/Zac Brown.

I'm sure there's other "musts" that aren't in my mind right now but those come to me right off.
