Post subject: Can I fit an american Fender trem into a FR space?

I have an original Floyd Rose in one of my favorite guitars. Problem is I hate Floyds and would much rather have a Fender 2 point trem instead. Does anyone know if it is possible to swap them out as is?
I haven't taken any measurements yet, but someone must have experience with this. Anyone?

But has anyone here tried fitting the 2 point Fender style onto the Floyd posts?
