Or maybe it should be called "America Just Needs to be Entertained"

I see some really good acts on there, and some that are no better than a school talent show. The 8 year old kid that raps and dances in the same catagory as the guy with the Fire act-they're both going to Vegas. I guess they need to vote so many thru to fill the time slot in Vegas.

I wondered, why do they cover the brand names on the amps they use on stage? I saw a Fender with black duct tape over the Fender logo, and the same with a Marshall backstage. Is it a union thing or trademark use?

Exactly, or better yet "America will waste their time and money on anything just to be entertained"

You can put a large part of the blame to the writer strike and SAG for the over abundance of Reality shows. Basically, when they went on strike, production companies pretty much said "ok... GFYS we don't need scripts or even real actors"

I agree VERY VERY much with that decision. Eff those commies... they put a lot of good hardworking, knowledgeable friends of mine out of work, however... it did reap some very un satisfying results. Uhhh... "The Bachelorette"????

im actually sad i never got to see real MTV... my earliest memories of it are right when britney spears and n sync started to pick up and music shot itself in the foot... now MTV is nothing but "The Real World" (which is about as real as my pet unicorn harold who drives a flying mercedes to his job as president of never land every day after eating a good breakfast of magic flakes) and 16 and pregnant, which basically sends the message "GET PREGNANT WE'LL PUT YOU ON TV!!!!!!"... :?

My son got us tickets to Cleveland to see the Browns/Chiefs game Sept 19, anyway AGT is at the the Quicken Loans arena Sept 18 and I was think ing about getting tickets and going just to go to the arena. I'm not too familiar with the show, maybe I should watch it and decide. I know we will go to the Rock &Roll HOF. The last time we went was 2004 and they had some awesome Hendrix displays and videos. I think they rotate featured artists. So if its someone we like we'll go.

i hear you on all of that man.

Flipping through the channels on American tv really makes me embarrassed at the state our society has fallen into.

With the exception of Seinfeld syndication, TV is just about the biggest waste of Human existence. The sad irony for me is that my part in perpetuating it feeds my children so i can't really complain.
