Cajun, not sure if you saw over at LTG but I finally got myself a Guild Starfire II. Once I get it in house I will post some pics of it.

It is a 97 reissue, Westerly made, with the Seymour Duncan SD1's in it. I wanted a Mahogany one but got a nice deal on the maple top and it has some really nice flame on it I haven't seen on many of these. The seller threw in a nice Epiphone hardcase but now I am on the lookout for a Guild case.

Thank you sir! I love Fender guitars but Guilds are my absolute weakness.

Nice guitar... To me it looks exactly like a X-170 with different tailpiece, cutaway, and inlays...

Whoever put those seymour duncans in there kept the original guild pickup covers ... Have you looked at the pickup backs to see if they really are seymour duncans ? I am a bit surprised the pole spacings were exactly the same...

I had Hans Moust look at the listing and tell me about them, he verified they were SD1's for me so I figure that is pretty much as accurate as you can get. if they end up being HB1's for some reason I will definitely be looking at getting a partial refund because I wouldn't have bought it with HB1's in it and the listing also said SD1's. I should have it friday and will keep you posted.

I had found this info with an online search

http://www.ggjaguar.com/97sf3.htm

and

http://www.gbase.com/gear/guild-starfir ... 7-natural#

both which say they have SD1's...the one on gbase is a lot higher priced than the one I got and less flame on the maple also.

Now I get it ! the SD1's are stock... It is making perfect sense to me now... So, these pickups are original and not changed... Yes, those are SD1's
